Empire and Mobility

I was delighted to get my hands on Empire and Mobility in the Long Nineteenth Century this week, a new book edited by David Lambert and Pete Merriman. The books addresses the recent uptick in conversation between the fields of imperial history and mobility studies, and I was pleased to be able to contribute a chapter on Albert Walter’s mobile practices of stitching together a meteorological infrastructure in British East Africa.

More info on the book is available here.
